The fact is – often the loudest naysayer in our lives is ourselves.
We become our own worst enemy.
- I am not good enough
- What will others think?
- I can’t do this.
- I am an idiot.
- I am stupid
- I will look like a fool
- I will fail.
- This is not good enough.
and so the list goes on.
Basically … our own fears of failure and imperfection become the nasty voices in our heads feeding every insecurity we have.
and so … nothing happens
All the amazing motivational quotes we see online only help when we begin to truly believe in ourselves (otherwise they simply seem like fairy fluff and daydreams).
Part of the process of personal development (and actually making things happen in our lives) is looking at finding that “key” within ourselves that acknowledges that we have the answer inside. Deep down we know we can do this, we know we are good enough, we know anything is possible with a bit of hard work and determination … we just need to discover and work through our reasons (and fears) that are getting in the way of that.
Don’t feel ashamed to ask for help in finding out how to stop being your own worst enemy.
It is a hard habit to break – but one that is truly worth the effort!
What do you think you could achieve if you didn’t always doubt and fear yourself?
